What is E-ther?
E-ther is a vital digital element in Earth 2’s EcoSim, generated exclusively by player-owned properties with an active Mentar. This mysterious, glowing vapor naturally evaporates from the land and represents the first step in the production of Essence (ESS), the platform’s main token.
The Mentar plays a critical role: without it, land cannot attract E-ther. Only Tier 1 and Tier 2 properties can generate native E-ther; Tier 3 properties may receive leftover E-ther from nearby land, but cannot produce their own. Each day, E-ther appears above qualifying land and must be manually claimed or collected using Cydroids, or it will either disappear or be raided by other players.
Beyond being the precursor to Essence, E-ther is essential for Earth 2’s Resource System. As it evaporates, E-ther carries binary data linked to Resource Occurrence Units (O.U.’s) in the soil. When claimed, it can be “read” to extract O.U.’s associated with the detected resources—if the Mentar is primed with the correct Prime Jewels, or if a prospecting Cydroid is assigned.
E-ther also holds strategic value: it can be converted into Essence, used to synthesize Civilians (like the Geologist), or saved for future features. Its daily production is influenced by factors such as land size, terrain type, active boosts, and the amount of Essence Distribution Commitment in it.
